Affinity Workforce Solutions is currently recruiting SEND Teaching Assistants to work in a variety of welcoming primary and secondary schools across Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for caring and motivated individuals who want to support pupils both academically and emotionally, helping them develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning.

About the Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities. Working alongside class teachers and SENCOs, you will help create positive learning experiences and ensure pupils receive the support they need to succeed.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or within small groups.
  • Adapting learning activities to meet individual needs.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and classroom engagement.
  • Assisting with social and emotional development.
  • Supporting pupils during lessons, breaktimes, and school activities.
  • Working closely with teaching staff to monitor progress and wellbeing.
  • Helping to create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Speech and Language Difficulties
  • Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Experience working with children or young people with additional needs.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children to reach their potential.
  • Confidence working independently and as part of a team.

We are keen to hear from applicants with backgrounds in education, care, support work, youth services, residential childcare, health and social care, or psychology.
